The same things I'd ask you across the kitchen table.

Our price promise

A pouch of our tea costs about what one fancy latte does. It makes fifteen cups.

We buy well and blend it ourselves

We grow what we can and buy the rest in bulk, straight from the growers. Doing the blending ourselves keeps the price low.

Simple, pretty packaging

Paper pouches and hand-stamped labels. Your money goes to what's inside.

Straight from us to you

No stores or middlemen taking a cut. You order, we blend, you pick it up.

Brewing

How to brew a really good cup.

Herbal tea is forgiving. These four steps get you the best of it.

  1. Measure

One heaping teaspoon per mug. Use a tablespoon for fluffy flowers like chamomile and linden.

  2. Heat

Bring fresh water just to a boil. Herbs like it hotter than green tea does.

  3. Cover and steep

Five minutes for flowers, seven for leaves and mint, ten for roots and spices. A saucer on top keeps the flavor in your cup.

  4. Sweeten if you like

A little honey is lovely. For iced tea, brew it double strong and pour it over a full glass of ice.

Our story

Hello, friend.

Everything in this shop starts with good herbs. A few come from my own garden, and I grow more every season. The rest I buy from organic growers I've chosen one by one, because a cup of tea is only as good as what goes into it.

Then I blend it all by hand at my kitchen table, the same way I make tea for the people I love.

I started Sweet Thyme because I believe herbs are for everyone. A good cup of tea shouldn't feel like a luxury, so I keep my prices low, my packaging simple and my door open.

If you're ever unsure what to try, just ask. I love talking about herbs.

Pull up a chair. The kettle's on.

Questions

Good questions, plain answers.

Anything else?

How do I get my order?

Pick it up free from our front porch (we'll text you the address and a time that works), or we'll drop it at your door nearby for $3, free on orders over $25. Utah's homemade-food rules don't let us mail teas or chocolates, so we're a local shop for now.

Where do your herbs come from?

Some come from our own garden, and we're growing more every year. Everything else comes from organic growers we've picked carefully and taste-tested ourselves. Spices like cinnamon and cacao come from warmer places, because Utah can't grow them.

Are the teas caffeine-free?

Yes. Every tea here is made from herbs, flowers, roots and spices, with no tea leaves, so there's no caffeine. The chocolates do have a little natural caffeine from the cacao.

How long do the herbs keep?

Dried herbs taste best within a year. Keep the pouch sealed and somewhere cool and dark, away from the stove.

What about allergies?

Every label lists every ingredient and allergen. Everything is made in a home kitchen, so if you have a serious allergy, send us a note first and we'll tell you exactly what else goes on in there.

Is it okay if I'm pregnant or taking medication?

Some herbs aren't a good fit during pregnancy or with certain medications. Please check with your doctor first. We're always happy to share exactly what's in a blend.

What if I don't love it?

Tell us. We'll swap it for something else or make it right another way. We want every cup to be one you enjoy.

Can you do gifts or bigger orders?

Yes. Gift boxes come with a handwritten card, and you can write your message in the notes at checkout. For showers, teacher gifts or neighborhood parties, send us a note and we'll put something together.
